Its quite logical - at some point FaceBook will seek to monetize even further all those eyeballs. FaceBook pages have become very popular. Content with in FaceBook is going to become a very powerful medium. It has the potential to bring more relevant 'approved' (e.g. liked) content to searchers. Somewhere deep in the bowels of Google you gotta think they are thinking about this...
